Seychelles Beaches
Among the World's Best

Seychelles Beaches are mentioned on any travel Magazine or Travel Website as some of the most beautiful beaches in the Planet.

The Islands form an archipelago of 115 islands off the shores of East Africa, located northeast of the big island country of Madagascar. The Capital of Seychelles is Victoria located on the biggest island of Mahe.

But they are still unknown to tourist masses. The Islands are now becoming so popular that many airlines maintain schedule flights from Europe and Asia. Emirates Airlines offer a daily flight from the Gulf States to Victoria Seychelles, and many charters are leaving full from many other parts of Europe, Africa and Asia.

The islands are a protected sanctuary to many species of turtles, birds and vegetation. It is important to comply with local regulations while visiting this country.

If you are looking for nightlife, you may be disappointed; but if looking for relaxation, great food and service and above all, miles and miles of sandy beaches, this is your place.

Recommended Seychelles Beaches

  • Anse Source D‘Argent

This one is perhaps the most popular beach on the Seychelles featured in every magazine and website about beaches. It is located on the Island of La Digue, which is the third in size of the inhabited islands of the archipelago.

To get to La Digue you have to take a ferry from Mahé, mentioned above. The island is small enough to be visited on a bicycle and enjoy its beaches.
  • Beau Vallon

Is located on the main island of Mahé and it is one of the best known beaches on the island. From here you may see the other isles to the north especially the island of Silhouette. The beach is great for swimming, walking and practicing of many water sports. Stands for these sports can be spotted on the beach.

  • Mahé, the largest and most commercial island in the archipelago, is only about 17 miles long but boasts 75 fine beaches that are often not crowded, if not altogether deserted.

This beach is a constant guest on all Top Ten Beaches of the world by many magazines and websites including Lonely Planet. It is located on the Island of Praslin, next to the beach of Georgette.

  • Anse Cimitiere

Cimitiere Beach is located in Praslin, another of the islands. Praslin has been called the “Perfect Tropical Island”. Cimitiere is a 500 meter beach divided by the hotel Coco de Mer. It is safe for swimming and surfing during the months November to April, since the other months are part of the Monsoon Season and swimming could be dangerous.

  • Anse Royale

Anse Royale is located on Mahé and it is the largest beach on the island. The big granite boulders scattered along the beach separate it into small coves ideal for romantic encounters. The beach has great sands like all around the islands and is covered by palm trees and another species called Takamaka Trees.

  • Anse Bois de Rose

It is also located on the Island of Praslin. It’s a very small beach with rocks and granite formations on the beach. This beach is best known for its fishing. You may see the villagers come back around noon with their daily catches.

Anse Intendance a wild one of the Seychelles Beaches

  • Anse Intendance

Intendance Beach is on the south coast of Mahe and some consider it the most beautiful beach in all the Indian Ocean. No, they do not exaggerate. Its beauty is awe inspiring.

This beach is not protected by any reefs, so the winds are sometimes too strong for swimming, although the waves are ideal for surfers that come here from all over. I suggest caution with the strong winds and better check with the locals and the onsite resorts for advice on swimming and surfing.

Port Launay is a white sands and turquoise waters beach

  • Port Launay

This one more amazing beach in Mahe’s west side that is frequented by many beach goers because swimming is great and the beach is well kept. It is great for swimming because the granite boulders on both sides protect it from strong winds.

Its sands are like white powder and attract the biggest crowd of weekend beach-goers. Since it is located on the premises of Port Launay Marine Park they get the best service and the beach is kept in the most pristine condition.

Anse Georgette in the Seychelles a paradise on Earth

  • Anse Georgette

Georgette Beach has been categorized as one of the Most Beautiful Beaches in the world. It is located on Praslin Island. This beach features the Lemuria Resort a favorite among honeymooners. The only access to the beach is by boat.

  • Anse Bois de Rose

It is also located on the Island of Praslin. It’s a very small beach with rocks and granite formations on the beach. This beach is best known for its fishing. You may see the villagers come back around noon with their daily catches.

Seychelle Beaches are out of this world. The only disadvantage is that is located so far from the rest of the world. People in Kenya or Tanzania don’t think so, but most of us don’t live near Kenya or Tanzania.

It is worth a visit, even if it’s a one in a lifetime visit.
